My new abode

I’m making a little nest in my new apartment on Julián Alvarez.

It’s a cozy little place and I’m rooming with Manuela, from Entre Rios.

I bought a bedspread in Once, a wholesale district near the train station that made me nostalgic for Harwin in Houston. Though after an Argentine friend teased me about buying in Once, I had it cleaned before using it.

Bush Baby at home

Two days to moving day.

I only have about two more days in my abode on Billinghurst.

Saturday is moving day into an apartment, with a new roommate, Manuela.

I’m excited about a change. I’m considering it a fresh start.

But I’ll miss my first home in Buenos Aires: the balcony where at night I see the Tres Marías and on sunny afternoons spot Argentines sunning on rooftops across the street. The breeze at night and the streaming sunlight in the morning.

Sigh.
