Thursday we went to the opening of an art exhibit “Urbanidades” in the Centro Cultural Borges.
It is in the Galerías Pacíficas, near Florida downtown. It’s a gorgeous, swanky shopping mall. Even with dollars, I can’t afford this place.
The art exhibit was interesting: work by 11 young Argentine and French artists, hip work. Some examples:
I also met Andrés Cascioli, who did this portrait of Argentina author Roberto Arlt. (One of my favorites.)
(Sorry the picture is fuzzy; really, visit the artist’s Web site. He has a series of sketches of Argentine writers.)
But the absolute best part was meeting Elvi, my friend from BsAs when I studied here in 2002.
She is one of those “amigas del alma.”
Neither time nor distance change your friendship.
